Interlaken Tourism is expanding its digital service offering with a new feature: Access to the Wi-Fi provided free of charge by Interlaken Tourism can now also be granted directly via the digital guest card.

Thanks to this new solution, guests benefit from simple and high-performance internet access at an increasing number of locations throughout Interlaken during their stay. The digital guest card serves as a central key for Wi-Fi hotspots. As a result, SMS authentication, which occasionally caused restrictions for international guests, is no longer required. This increases convenience while enabling more efficient, centrally managed administration of guest accounts.

The future-proof and scalable solution is seamlessly embedded in Interlaken Tourism’s existing system landscape and supports the overarching digital development along the entire guest journey of the destination. The objective is to further simplify the guest experience through digital services and to meet the growing demand for reliable connectivity in public spaces – for example for navigation, travel planning or access to tourist information.

Real added value for guests

The project is based on an idea developed by Interlaken Tourism. The technical concept, implementation and system integration were realized by onway. The company assumed overall responsibility, from architecture and integration to the implementation of Wi-Fi access via the digital guest card. “Integrating Wi-Fi access into our digital guest card makes our guests’ stay even more convenient and contemporary. onway implemented the project with a high level of expertise and delivered a solution that provides real added value to our guests throughout the entire guest journey,” says Daniel Sulzer, Director/CEO at Interlaken Tourism.
