along with onway – how long have you been on board?

I have been with onway since September 2015.

What tasks does your role include?

As a software engineer, I work in both front-end and back-end development and help maintain existing products and develop new ones.

What do you particularly enjoy about your job?

The versatility of my job and learning new technologies. There are a thousand different ways to achieve the same thing and you can learn something new every day.

Which technologies and topics do you come across in your job?

I mainly program in Java and TypeScript. In the backend we use the Spring Framework, as well as PostgreSQL and Apache Kafka. In the frontend we use the React Framework.

What professional expertise are you bringing to the table?

I was able to write my bachelor's thesis at onway as part of my studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Rapperswil and was hired straight away afterwards. Therefore, apart from an internship, I didn't have much professional experience. In the meantime, however, I have been able to acquire a lot of knowledge both at onway and privately.

What are your plans for the future, what do you definitely want to achieve with onway?

I am looking forward to writing a management software for our routers, with which the devices can be conveniently configured and visualised online.

Why onway? To me, working at onway means...

To be able to work in a motivated team with a familiar atmosphere, with an employer who appreciates me.
