Requirements

In the course of procuring new rolling stock, Jungfrau Railways was looking for a flexible communication platform that would ensure the communication of all in-train systems to the outside world. What’s more, the possibility of having IP network access to customer information systems, and the camera and WLAN connection in the depots were also key evaluation aspects.

Thanks to the fleet management system onway director, Jungfrau Railways can easily manage all mobile routers and check both the location and the current status at any time. Communication between the mobile router and the redundant central VPN end points is encrypted thanks to IPSec. The mobile environment is taken into account with MobIKE. This guarantees stability and fast connections at all times. The individual requirements of the different railway and train compositions could be easily and safely integrated into the overall solution.
